Some History about our Baskets Originally when we started as a small outlet selling high quality bedding plants to the public, it was never our intention to create hanging baskets, but we did the occasional one as a special request for some customers. One year we left some special orders awaiting customer collection in general view, and we received so many compliments we could have sold them many times over. Since them we have been supplying hanging baskets as a mainstream product range, and usually carry a wide range of prepared baskets, for you to choose from. Secret Ingredients As you are probably aware most hanging baskets have a tendency to dry out or run out of nutrients, when fully planted, which can lead to starvation of the plants, and will not give you an outstanding show for the longest possible time. Being aware of this we have, over the past few years created our own special mix of compost for hanging baskets which contains a secret mix ingredients to ensure you get the best from your basket. We will supply the basket already moist, but you will need to remember to water it, especially in hot summers and on south facing walls. In addition we use a Wool based bio-degradeable liner which can assist water retention, and is fully disposable. Bring it back Many customers have grown to love the decorative baskets that have been planted with bedding for a display, and would like to continue to use the same containers year in and year out. If this is you and you have a favourite, but don't want to plant it yourself, please bring it to us and we will plant it for you. You can even choose the plants if you wish. When we are not busy we will do this while you wait, but you may need to leave the containers with us for a couple of days. Weddings and Occasions If you are planning a special occasion, maybe a wedding, or just a garden party, and would like something special as a showpiece, we are able to provide colour co-ordinated hanging baskets or planters, that can compliment the wedding attire, or current garden planting scheme. We will select the plants for you, and ensure they are cared for in the confines of our polytunnel. This allows us the flexibility to control the rate of growth, meaning they will be at their absolute best when you need them. Pubs, Clubs and Restaurants Although you will not be aware there are many local pubs that are adorned with a Ditchling Produce hanging basket during the summer months. If you would like a quote for your establishment please give us a call or pop in to see us and we will be happy to assist. Garden Baskets and Containers We never forget that the reason we are so popular is because of our continually returning customers. We carry a wide range of populated and unpopulated hanging Baskets, and small garden containers. It is the freedom of choice that has made us unique within our field. If you are very busy and want to simply pick up and go, then why not choose one of our pre-planted options. If you would like to have a go yourself, you can buy the plants and containers, and do it yourself at home, or we will assist you before you leave. Alternatively you can let us know what you want, and we will do the work for you, not forgetting to add our secret ingredient compost! Guarantee Whatever the occasion, and whatever you choose we are so proud of the quality of our merchandise, that we are sure you will be back for more. However if you do have any problems simply bring the plants back to us and we will assist in very way to ensure you go away a happy customer. (There is just one exception.
